Week 74

Monday, March 26, 2018

Hey mom,

How is life? Not much has happened this past week. We continued our schedule of traveling between the two areas of the island. Man, it is kinda tiering but also fun cause I get to say I get a whole island to myself. The highlights off  this past week have been the family nights we had with some members. While there haven't been many participants in them, it is really cool to remember that we don´t need things to be big, as long as we have the Holy Ghost with us. Really cool. The other area, Tarrafal, is a bit harder, but nothing the Lord can´t fix. Church was also good. It was only 9 pf us, but it was still true. Always will be though.

A few other things that's happened this week are pretty funny. We came home from Tarrafal and I needed to make a cake. So I poured the cake mix in the bowl, and it just needed eggs, butter and milk. So I got the eggs and got a cup to crack them into. But when I cracked the egg, the bottom of the cup was there so the egg fell off the cup and onto the table. Me and Elder Dopp laughed so hard. WE almost cried. Also on Saturday, we passed by these twins in Tarrafal and we were helping them prepare talks for church the next day. And man, can I just say that they were crazy. They kept getting distracted and trying to speak English. So as we helped them, it was a mix of krioulo, English and Portuguese. I am going to come home and speak some form of something, so I hope that you have the gift of interpretation of tongues, cause you're going to need it.

Other than that nothing else really happened. I am just ready for another week of hard work and some conference. Hurrah For Israel!!!!!!

Love you mom.

Esther,

Happy Birthday!!!! Man, 10 years old. It is a milestone to reach double-digits. But an even better part is that it is on Easter. You are loved Esther, by me, Mom, Dad, Emma and Andrew, and by mayn others. Thank you for always being you and for being my sister. Enjoy a beautiful day and Easter. Love you lots! Love Elder Spencer Nelson

Yup, conference will be by video transmition on the LDS site. And the stores are like normal cape verdean stores. Nothing too special. And yes, we do walk everywhere, with the exception of Tarrafal, cause that would take about 3 hours I think.
