Week 38

So, I love being a missionary!!!

This past week was a good week. The good always outweighed the more or less, as always haha. We found some good people to talk to, and me and my comp and making memories for the ages haha. There is no better time to be a missionary than now, or ever.

This past week the highlight was by far the Zone Conference with the new president, President and Sister Amo. They are so cool!!! They talked about one of the things that matters most as well. Agency and Obedience. These 2 go hand in hand, just as me in baseball haha. I loved what they talked about and how it tied into what I read today.

I read the talk from Elder Hales in last conference and was just so uplifted by it. Elder Hales talks about how to become a Disciple of Jesus Christ and he said something really interesting. He used a phrase "selective obedience" and that really stuck out to me. In our lives, we have the ability to choose to obey or not. And, sadly, there are people who are "selective obedient" people. People who obey when they want to obey. And then there are those people that obey, but being compelled to obey. Then there are those true disciples who obey because they use their AGENCY to obey. It says in Alma 32 that people who are humble without being compelled to be humble are much more blessed. So, if we obey without being compelled to obey (use our agency that way it was intended to be used) We will receive All of what God has to offer. Man that was a cool connection.

So everybody, don't be compelled to obey or be humble. Be All In!!! Love you all and have a great week!!

What a crazy week

This past week has by far been one of the most eventful packed weeks of my mission. We moved houses on P-Day. Had quite a few crazy teaching days in our group in Estância Roque, and had a baptism last Saturday.

The new house is legit. I feel like I am in America sometimes. Last P-Day we moved all day so we had like on time to buy food and prepare for the week like we normally do on pdays, but it was still good. Then, we had a few weird days in our group. Like, just with some things that have happened, are happening, and will be happening in the future, it just makes me grateful for the guidance and help that the Lord gives each one of His servants. He is always so willing to help each one of us no matter what has happened in our lives or not, He is always there to lend us support and to teach us through His holy Spirit.

Then, we had the baptism. Man, was it good. Me and E. Peterson found her, and it took some time ,but she was finally baptized by her brother that came back from a mission a year ago. It was so cool to be here and see her growth. She grew slow, but steady and now she's a member of the party of salvation. We were talking about the spirit as well yesterday and the coolest thought and feeling came over me.

We read Moroni 10:5 and I know that that is like the most obvious scripture to use to teach about the spirit, but I just could really feel my testimony of the bom and this work grow so much. It is just so cool to see the way the Lord works with people and us. Love you all! Have a good week. And Be All In!

Week 36

Monday, July 3, 2017

This past week was a good week. More stressful than what I wanted, but it turns out that that stress was a good stress haha, just like all the other challenges that come from God.

This past week was transfers. I got my new comp and we just continued to find the people that need to hear and accept the gospel. This is the 6th comp in my 6 transfers on my mission, one every transfer. I actually like it. It has been really fun. A lot of experience tell I you that. We also moved houses today as well. The move was good. The new house is like American. It is so cool! Really weird but cool. And last but not the least...the new Mission President came in. President and Sister Amo. Brazilians. It should be legit. Finally my Portuguese is going to get good. But other than that, nothing really happened.

This week I have learned a lot about how to really love people for who they are and for not what they've done. In life, it may be easy to point fingers and to look at people and judge them for what's happened in the past. But, to become like Christ, we can't look in the past, cause He never did. So, to change that, we need to change ourselves first and look at them as the way Christ does. Just something cool and really worthwhile if you can really look at people for who they are and not for what they've done.

Love you all! Hope you have a good week. And Be All IN!
