Hey Mom!!!
WOW!! That´s all I can say about my first week. Wow. WOW. It´s insane. So the sisters did make it back to Utah and are safe in the MTC. They are coming out to Cabo Verde in like a few days. I´m good here. I feel great. Tired because of all the walking but super good. My companion is Elder Robertson. Funny story about him. So Wednesday when I was getting introduced to the mission president and we ate food and stuff. After that we went out and just served for like a couple of hours. I got dropped off with Elder Smith and we served with... Elder Robertson. I didn't know he was going to be my trainer but he did so when they dropped me off he was like confused. But it was really good. During the few hours on Wednesday together, he was seeing how I was handiling everything and was evaluating me. I did't know any of this. So then we went back and slept in the AP´s house again. Then I got trained on Thursday and that´s when I met E Robertson. I was super happy cause he is a cool elder. He has been out a year in January and knows his way around the area after 5 transfers here. I´m adjusting really well. I don´t miss American things because this isn´t anywhere close to America. But we do have flushing toilets, running showers, laundry machine and filtered water. We do have to go and get gas but that´s not a bad thing. The people here are great. I love them here. Super happy and humble people. I have had like 10 or so lessons just in the first few days. Also Church, Zone Meeting and weekly planning all in the span of 3 days. So...life of a missionary. What else? It´s great. I wouldn´t trade it for anything. My Portuguese has grown alot here but still not really good. Everybody here speaks Creoule and it´s familiar with Portuguese but different at the same time. Everybody asks if I speak Creoule but I don´t so...I know the Holy Ghost is real. Very real along with the gift of tounges. I am also serving in Praia, Eugenio Lima. It´s really cool here. I love it
I´m glad you are all doing good. Espically Dad and Andrew. You all are an example to me of how to perservear and endure challenges well. Thank you. I´m glad Emma will be doing school. I just have felt that she doesn´t want to get married rn, but tbe time will come. And if it´s before I come home, I´ll just give her a bad time and give her husband a really bad time. Jk, it´ll be good. I do pray for you guys. If there is anything that I learned here is how to pray sincerely and with real intent. It´s awesome serving a mission. I also have some things to tell you, Just one thing actually. I won´t be skyping on Christmas. It will be on the 26th. Because Pres. Matthews doesn´t want us to spend 3 hours in the space of 2 days talking to family when we can just do it on Monday. Don´t shoot the messenger. It was my comp who told me. So don´t shoot him. I need him. He speaks Portuguese and Creoule. But that´s the news. I hope you can survive. Love you all and have a great week.

Week 6

Hey Mom,
I am good today. It was really weird to say goodbye to my teachers because I've come to really know and appreciate them for all they've done. I couldn't have asked for better teachers then Brother Machado and Sister Bennion. What great examples to me of how to follow the Lord. Thank you again for sending me those things I asked for. I loved all the food and I will look forward to sharing some of it because I can't eat all of that by myself. I am glad that all of you are doing good at home as well. I am super happy that Dad has had many opportunities with new jobs. Good choice to surprise Emma with The Nut Cracker. She will Love it! And Esther is Esther and I'm so happy she is. I miss her little hugs and her bossy personality. It reminds me of me haha. And as for Andrew, I miss him. It's been most hard to not have him be there for me when I need a friend. And I think I have what he has. I have been sick since Thursday, when we did In-Field Orientation. Speaking of which, it wasn't that bad as I thought but when your'e sick, it kinda sucks. I also have my flight numbers for you in this picture so you can track where I am at in the world. I also have a phone card so be expecting a call from me on Monday around 1 or something. And that's awesome that you saw Kilee and Cristain and Pearl. I'm glad they are happy. I also have a package that I'm sending to you on Monday that contains stuff I don't need. There will also be a surprise in there. Anyways, I hope everything is going well. Send my love to the ward tomorrow and to Dad, Emma, Andrew and Esther. I miss you all and hope that the Lord will make burdensome things seem light. Have a good week and I will talk to you on Monday and see you in 22 days,...and counting.

Hey Mom,
I am good this week. It's been pretty good this week. I have pictures but I will get them to you next week. I am getting used to the MTC. Just when I get used to the MTC, I'm going to leave and have to get used to Cabo Verde. But all is well. We had Elder Stevens come from the 12 and it was really good to listen to what he said. Then I watched One by One by Elder Bednar. That was a cool talk. The song one by one is in the July New Era I think. It's a really good song.
How is everybody there? How is the ward? I heard about dad and his job. If there is one thing I know it is that the Lord is with you and me and everybody. He won't leave us. Ever. I'm glad that you guys are happy and optimistic about the future.
How are Grandpa and Grandma doing after their trip? What did they do in all the places that they visited?
I hope everything is going well and hope you all have a good week this week. Love you all!

Hey Mom,
How is it going? How is it in PG? How is the snow there? How was Thanksgiving for you all? I hope it was good. I am so happy that I get to have snow before I leave next week. I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to have snow before I left, but I did and I'm super happy. This past week was awwwwwesome! I loved Thanksgiving. It was really weird to be away from home but it was so worth it cause of the service project that we did. We prepared meals for people all over the nation I think. The total was like 359,000 meals. It was really cool. We also had Elder Anderson come for Thanksgiving and it was really cool. He gave a good talk about having gratitude. I am so glad I have had the opportunity to be here. It's been hard but so worth it.
And I guess I should tell you something. I have travel plans. WAHOOOOOOO! The pictures are one of me and the other elder is with Elder Allred. He did track too and he kinda knows people that I know too. It's super cool. Then the one picture with me, smith and the 2 sisters are Cowles and Conrad. I'm next to Sister Conrad and the other one is Cowles. I hope everything is going well.
It's going to be weird to leave here but I'm ready. Like, idk how to really feel because I want to leave but then I don't want to. But I know the Lord answers our prayers if we are faithful. And speaking of answering our prayers, I was wanting to see somebody from home that I kinda knew and I saw Brother Loosli. It was super cool to see him. He is a worker in the temple. He's a really cool guy. I know the Lord lives and that we are his children. It's just becoming more and more eveident to me that he loves us so much. And to know that he sent his only begotten Son to earth, to atone for each and every sin that every single person will feel is truly remarkable. I love him and I hope that we can all come unto him. Thank you for raising me in the gospel. Say Hello to the ward for me and tell Naomi's mom that she is lucky for not having to spend 6 weeks here in the MTC. I can't believe I'm saying this but I don't really like the food. I'll eat it, but I don't really like it. But I guess it's better than fish and corn all the time haha. Love you Mom and everybody and have an awesome week!!!!
