Hey Mom,
This past week was a very tiring week. We did a lot of work and it paid off in some aspects but it was also a mentally tiring week. We had zone conference and interviews and both were amazing. I learned a lot and got some good tips of how to continue to work harder and harder. We also found 2 very good investigators and they both came to church yesterday!! But let us start from the beginning.
The highlights were the two people in church. Aluno and Codé. We found Aluno by asking if we could play futebal one P-Day at this really nice field. It didn´t work out, but we started talking to him and I did a magic trick and he laughed and then we contacted him and he accepted a return date. Then we taught him twice this week and he accepted a baptismal date!! That was awesome,. Then we picked him up for church and it was incredible. He came. This guy is legit. Then Codé was a reference from a member. He also came to church with that same member. It was cool to see both of them at church. Then the ward took them in and invited them to come back. It was cool.
The zone conference was awesome. I learned a lot about how to finish strong and work smarter, and nt only harder. I specifically learned about how to use family history and we have had some cool experiences with that already. I am pumped to see what the Lord has in store for us this week.
Other stuff is my comp got super sick. I was laughing cause I wasn't sick but he is better now. He is a trooper. We also had chicken feet. That's right, chicken feet. It was a very interesting taste. I almost pucked, but I spit some of it out and then ate the rest. All the members kinda laughed, but it's ok. I'll have more time to eat chicken feet later.
My thought comes from an email Presidente Amo sent out. He shared a story about somebody breaking cement off the metal poles. He hit the cement day after day, and nothing. Then he felt he should hit the pole. He thought it was crazy, but he heard it again. SO he tried and then the cement, which seemed impenetrable, fell away like it was nothing. The moral of the story is that we sometimes can overwork ourselves on something that seems so complicated, but ion reality if we just think and ponder a bit about the problem, the answer is right in front of us. Sometimes we need to work smarter and not harder. I love this gospel and what I have leaned. I hope you all have an amazing week and see the Lords hand in your lives.
Love you Mom,
Love, Elder Nelson
